Here is where the official list will live… I will mark things off as they are complete. Original post with elaboration/explanation here.
1- Fall in love
2 – Earn my black belt in TKD
3- Visit Las Vegas
4- Kiss someone at midnight on New Year’s Eve
6 – Photograph a new city
7 – Learn a foreign language (or enough to be mildly conversational)
8 – Get a tattoo
9 – Visit a winery
10 – Pay off my credit cards
11 – Find the perfect little black dress
12- Lose 30 pounds
13 – Sing karaoke
14 – See a Broadway show (on Broadway)
15 – Learn to drive a stick shift
16 – Go out to the middle of nowhere and watch a meteor shower
18 – Travel outside state lines and buy fireworks
20 – Get a manicure/pedicure and/or a massage
21 – Go to the Iowa State Fair
22 – Go campaniling
23 – Take a ballroom dance class
24 – Participate in a cancer fundraising walk
25 - Go Tailgating
26 – Write a short story. Send it in to be published. Frame the rejection letter.
27 – Walk a dog
28 – Go to a casino
30 – Learn to tie a cherry stem with my tongue
Backup/Bonus Items:
- wear a mascot suit. in public.
- ride a motorcycle (with a helmet, of course)
- participate in a tae kwondo tourney
- get backstage at a concert
- meet the President
- be in a movie (probably as an extra)
- visit Hollywood Boulevard, the Walk of Fame.. see whose handprints mine fit into at Grauman’s Chinese Theater (visit LA in general?)
(Yes, I am mildly perturbed that I struggled with rounding out my list last August and now I keep coming up with things to add. At least I’ve got a head start if I need to extend this thing to 40 before 40…)
